They were on their way back to the hotel; Clay and Amber were quiet as Jerome drove them. Amber was in the back seat looking out the window thinking about how she left Zac. She started to feel bad about it. She just liked him as a friend, and he had Vanessa.
“Amber?” she heard.
She looked up to see Jerome and Clay looking back at her. “Yeah?” she asked.
“Did you want to grab a bite to eat?” Clay asked her.
“No, I’m not that hungry.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I’ll just get something from the diner downstairs.”
They turned back to the front as she looked back outside.
Clay was worried about her. Ever since she left Zac at the movie place, she never said anything.
They got back to the hotel; Jerome dropped them off at the door as he went to park. The two walk inside, heads to the elevator, and up to their floor. As they were on the way up, Clay was on one side, Amber on the other, and he watches her looking at the floor.
“Amber?” he asked.
“Yeah?” she asked not moving or looking at him.
“Do you want to talk about it?”
Clay reached into his pant pocket, pulled out a penny, puts his hand out in front of her face while he held the penny between his fingers.
Amber looked to see a penny that he was holding.
He smiled, “A penny for your thoughts?” he asked her.
She smiled, “I’ve just got a lot on my mind that I need to sort out on my own.”
“Okay,” he said putting the penny back as the elevator stopped and the doors opened on their floor.
They started to walk off and toward their rooms, as Clay took Amber’s hand.
“Amber,” he said stopping her, and reached his hand out to her chin to make her look at him. “I’m going to tell you the same thing that you told me a few months ago.”
“What was that?” she asked softly.
“You can tell me anything. If I did anything wrong, you’d tell me, right?” he said quoting her.
She smiled. “Yes, I would tell you.”
They walked to their rooms holding hands as they heard the elevator ding, and looked back to see the doors open up to see Jerome coming out.
They got to their rooms that were across from each other, and they said good night with a small kiss, and they both went in as Jerome followed Clay inside.
The next morning, Clay and Amber flew to Cary, North Carolina for the next concert, which wasn't until the following day. They agreed to meet with the others there to go over the setup again so that they didn't have to do it early in the day.
Amber asked Clay if she could get onto his laptop and look around and check the fan club website while he practiced. He told her yes, so she looked around and she typed in the search bar "Clay Aiken". She thumbed through the links, and then something caught her eye.
She double clicked on the link, and brought up a cover of a magazine with Clay and the Rose girl. Her jaw dropped reading the title so she read the article. She was speechless. She was shocked on what happened to Clay with Rose. She lied to the media to get the attention and money for it. She found more of the one with Rose and Clay and read them too. She just couldn’t believe that Clay would buy her gifts, or took her on trips, go to lunch.
Amber click onto another one, and saw a picture of her and Clay at the premiere of the movie with Kenny, and it said, 'Who’s the mystery girl now?' She started to read the article and she couldn't believe it. It told everyone that she was Clay's new assistant, and girlfriend, but the name is still unknown. It even added that Clay fired his other assistant because he was sick of her being his plaything.
"Oh heck no! Clay would never do that. He's not like that," Amber said out loud traumatized while she kept reading on.
The story went on which was the truth; Zac invited her and Clay to the movie premiere. She then saw another picture, and she noticed it right off the bat. They flipped it, and you saw the ring that was on her right hand, was now on her left, and the picture said, 'Is that an engagement ring Clay Aiken? You better tell your Claymates or the Claynation what's going on. Adoring Claymates want to know.'
She was so ready to print the picture and the article for Clay to show, but she noticed and remembered that there wasn't a printer. She calmed down, and decided to email Clay the links and the pictures to him so he saw that the world already knew about her as 'unknown name'. But they both knew that the Claynation would know and fast.
Clay walked onto the bus looking for Amber, and saw her typing away on his laptop, and noticed that there was something wrong. He saw around her were tissues, the planner and phone beside the laptop. She was also crying.
"Hey," he said going over, “are you okay?" he asked.
She wiped her tears away, and pointed at the seat in front of her. "Um. I think you should sit down. There is something that you ought to see."
Clay went over to sit down across from Amber while she was clicking away and typing up something, and then she looked up at him.
"Now, just so you know. I saw and read what Rose had done, and I'm really sorry on what she did. I'm not happy myself, and I understand why now you didn't want to trust me for a very long time and was hard on me too." She sighed closing the top of the laptop down a little, and turned it to face him. "But what I'm going to show you... I never did it... Rose had to have done it, or the paparazzi did it for fun. There is a few links so I would like you to read all of them. However, I'm still trying to figure out all the five W's and how on it."
"The five W's?" he asked puzzled.
Amber laughed, "Mr. Aiken, you're a teacher… you should know the five W's."
He smiled, "Oh, who, what, when, where, why, and how?"
She smiled, "Yes."
Clay studied the flap of the laptop that was down. He closed his eyes with a sigh, reached to open it, and opened his eyes.
Amber watched Clay staring at what she put up on the screen for him to read the article and everything. She decided not to say anything to him, but to stand up, clean up her mess, decided to leave him alone, grab her phone and planner, and walked off the bus.
Amber was visiting the girls as they watched Jesse practice with the orchestra on some songs. She tapped her foot to the music as they were playing, and sang with the girls on some songs.
She told them what she found and that she left Clay alone on the bus, which she also told Jerome so he wasn't far from the bus when Clay got off because it was locked tight for him to be alone, requested by Amber.
When there was a break, Jesse looked over at Amber.
"Hey, come here," he said.
"Me?" she asked.
"Yes, you," he said.
Amber laughed walking over. "What?" she asked.
"Here," he said taking her hands in his. "I want you to lead them."
"What?" she asked looking at him. "Are you crazy, I don't know how."
"It's easy," he said as he turned Amber toward everyone, which she smiled and waved. "Now everyone, she's never done this before so just play along. We're just doing this part for fun."
Everyone agreed, and Jesse slowly showed Amber how to conduct them with her hands as he had them play the song. As Amber got it down, Jesse played the piano as she did it again, and that was when he decided to have her conduct them during that song at tomorrow’s show.
Back on the bus, Clay was on the bus on the phone calling Clive and magazine companies, and talked to them about how they got the pictures and the articles, and correcting them with the right information. Once he got it taken care of, he saw that it was two hours since Amber left him alone on the bus.
Clay sat down on the couch after he got done and ran his hands through his hair before looking up and saw on the laptop the picture of him and Amber at the movie premiere. He knew that Amber wasn't near him most of the time while he was there, but was off to the side more. He did remember that they walked up to the doors together after she stepped back most of the time, so it had to be around that time before his pictures was done alone or when they got out of the car.
He did find out that Amber was right, she didn't do it, but some how Rose did it all. She wrote the article, taken the pictures, and did some photo tricks with the pictures. He was told that Rose got out two days later after they arrested her, went home, and some how she found out that he and Amber were going to the movie premiere with Zac, but didn't know how. He never knew Zac until High School Musical started, and Zac never knew about Rose until the articles came out. So he knew Zac didn't do it, or the others.
He went over and noticed on the tool bar, there was the message board up and fan club page. It was under Amber's member name, so he logged out of it, and logged back in under his.
He saw that the fans were talking about Amber and trying to guess her name, which some knew because of the concert the night that she got shot. The pictures and the articles were posted and everyone just bashing Amber, blaming her and saying she did the same thing as Rose did. Even bashing the media on the articles and pictures. Others were supporting her and him whichever way that he decided to go with. He then decided to contact the MOD’s and left a blog.
Amber waited for Clay to come back in, or to call after she left him three hours ago, but he never did, until her phone rang, and she saw Clay's name.
"We need to talk," he told her.
"Where?" she asked. "Everyone is leaving to go home. We wanted to give you some space."
"I'll be in so that we can go to the hotel."
"Okay. I’ll send Jerome to come get you."
"Where are you?"
"I'm with the girls and Jesse on stage talking, the orchestra went home. Jerome could bring you on stage."
"That would be great. I'll see you soon. Um, did you tell Jesse and the girls?"
"Yes, they know," she said.
"Okay. I found some stuff to, so I'll see you soon."
"Okay," she said going to find Jerome and tell him that Clay is ready to come inside.
They watched Clay come on stage with Jerome not far behind.
Amber sat on his chair while waiting, but moved to sit beside Jesse while he moved over for her to sit down with him.
Clay sat down in his chair to face everyone. "Amber told you what she found on the Internet," he started. "I found out that Rose did it."
"Rose?" they asked.
"Again?" Jesse asked.
"How'd she get out?" the girls asked.
Clay held his hand up as they calmed down. "She was released two days after the shooting and was sent home. Some how she found out that we were going to the movie premiere with Zac, and she took pictures and wrote the articles for them." He sighed, "I called Clive and he's on it, and I already called to set the record straight about the pictures, and the truth about the articles." He looked at Amber, "I'm sorry Amber, the Claynation and the world knows who you are."
She nodded knowing that they would know just within that time frame that she was away.
Jesse smiled and hugged her sideways. "Welcome to the club," he told her.
Amber nodded and hugged Jesse back, "Thank you."
They went back to their spots as Clay continued, "I blogged tonight letting the fans know the truth, and who Amber is. I didn't tell them everything, but soon, everyone will start asking. So Amber, be ready."
She nodded. "I will."
"The ring I told them that it was a gift from me as a thank you. Nothing more. Just keep telling them that."
She nodded again.
Clay sighed, "So, are we ready to go?"
"Yep," the girls said smiling.
Everyone started to stand up and leave to go back to the hotel. As they got to the van that was waiting for everyone outside, Clay grabbed Amber's hand.
"Wait," he said.
Amber stopped and turned to face him. "Yeah."
Clay kissed her softly. "I'm sorry. I tried to keep you out of the spotlight, the cameras, the media…"
She covered his mouth with her finger, "It's okay. I'm fine with it. I knew that sooner or later they'd have to know who I was."
Amber climbed in with Clay right behind and shut the door as the van took them back to the hotel.
The next morning, Amber woke up, and was getting ready, but when she got to the bathroom, she looked at herself and screamed.
She was staring at her shirt where the gunshot was, and saw a blood stain. She started to panic and went over to the bed, and dialed Clay's room.
"Hello?" he asked.
"CaCaCaCaCaClay?" she asked.
"Um, you better come to my room quick."
"What's wrong?" he asked.
"What?" he asked.
"Quickly," was all she said, and hung up.
She got to the door, as there was pounding on it.
"Amber! Open the door!"
She opened the door and moved as Clay pushed it open to see her shirt.
"What happened?" he asked grabbing her shirt and pulling her into the bathroom.
"IIIIII I don't know. I walked in here and just saw this... and…"
"Take off your shirt," he said turning around to face the wall.
"What!?" she asked.
"Take off your shirt."
"Clayton Holmes Aiken, I am not stripping for you."
That was the first time Amber said his full name, he spun to look at her.
"Okay, I’ll let that pass for now. However, if you want to stand there and bleed then be my guest. Either strip to get in the shower to clean up," he then points at the shower, "or I will just put you in there and turn the water on with the clothes." He turns back around.
"Okay," she said and blushed more then the red of the blood on her shirt as she stripped as he asked, got into the shower, and closed the curtain.
"I'm going to get the first-aide kit from Jerome. I want you to clean up, be careful where the bleeding is from, and wrap yourself in a towel, and put tissue over the spot until I get back."
Amber started the shower, and looked down to see that the blood was from the stitching from the bullet. "It's the bullet wound, some how it didn't heal and opened again." She looked at her hands and saw blood there too, "Unless I scratched it."
"Don't do anything with it, I'm getting the kit, just clean up and wrap up in a towel. I'm going to get you new pajamas."
"Clay, don't worry about it," she said. She had extras.
"No, I'm going to buy one."
Amber learned that you never argue with the boy sometimes. "Fine."
"I'll be back. If I'm not back and you're out, get dressed but don't put a shirt on yet."
"Yes sir," she said as she heard the bedroom door shut.
Amber quickly cleaned up, Clay didn't come back so she got half dressed, and covered herself with the towel and put tissue over the wound on her chest.
She heard a knock on the door, and she went to answer it.
She opened it to see Jerome, Clay, and Jesse walking inside.
"Okay, I'm putting my shirt on. I'm embarrassed as is."
"No," Jesse said grabbing her hands. "Just keep the towel around you while Clay cleans the cut."
Amber went over to Clay at the table where he put the kit and started getting stuff out. Amber couldn't look at the guys as Clay cleaned the cut.
"Okay, it's going to burn," Clay warned her.
She nodded and felt sharp pain as she felt Jesse holding onto her right hand as she held the towel with her left and Clay blew on the cut. Soon, he bandaged her up, and she finally got to get dressed.
She walked back out of the bathroom completely dressed, and smiled. "Thank you," she said.
"Are you okay?" Jesse asked.
"Yeah, I don't know what happened, but either the cut didn't heal all the way or I scratched it."
"I'm going to have you stay with us to keep an eye on you."
"Clay I'll be fine," she said.
"No, Amber, you lost a lot of blood," Jesse said looking at the bedding.
Amber saw red spots on the sheets; she looked away as she felt someone coming up behind her and touches her shoulders.
"It's okay. Just be careful," Clay said quietly.
She nodded. "Okay. I'll stick with you guys."
"But, by tonight, and that still bleeds, we're taking you to the hospital to get stitched up again if we have to," Jerome told her.
"I understand," she smiled.
"Let's go, the girls are worried and we have to go. I'll pay for the sheets, don't worry."
Amber started to clean up her room with Jesse's help, and Clay went to tell the girls while Jerome called the front desk to tell the manager what happened.
Aug 23 08 9:27 AM
"Could this day get any worse," Amber said as she saw the fans outside holding signs up mostly all about her.
'Amber go away!'
'Go back to your state I Da Ho.'
'Clay we're better then her.'
'I want to be your PA.'
'Marry me, not her.'
"At least some are nicer," Jesse told her pointing at some others.
'Clay and Amber are cute together.'
'When is the wedding?'
'Can I come to the wedding?'
'Claymates support Amber.'
While Clay was busy getting ready, Amber and Jesse were at a window that was by the fans outside, however it was dark so the people couldn’t look inside, but they could look outside. The fans were getting ready for the show, but everyone had signs and some were arguing with each other that Amber should stay or others think that she should go home.
"It's okay," Jesse told her as he hugged her sideways, as she placed her head on his shoulder. "Clay is going to tell them tonight, and I'm going to surprise him and we're going to have fun tonight with the concert."
"Okay," Amber said smiling. They had a trick up their sleeves for Clay tonight during the concert.
Earlier, Amber agreed with Jerome to take her to the hospital just to be on the safe side, so the hole and stitch didn’t bleed again if it wasn’t done properly. After two hours of re-stitching and cleaning, they went back to the arena.
"So, go get ready in the girls room, meet me near the stage, I'll bring you up there with me, and we'll work with the orchestra. I'm going to go tell them that you are going to conduct them tonight at the beginning, until Clay spots you."
Amber smiled. "I can't wait."
"Remember, you and I can only talk to each other on the headset and ear piece. When Clay is talking we'll trade places so I can play the piano and you're off stage."
"Right," she said.
She hugged Jesse, and then walked out of the room while Jesse followed to go talk to the orchestra and tell them the plan.
Amber had her hair up in a tight bun with Quiana and Angela's help, and they made sure that her clothes were the same as Jesse's so that it blends in, and a ball cap on to hide her hair, which Jesse was going to wear one too. Amber met him over by the stage, they helped each other with the ear piece and the mic, and they went up with the orchestra and the stage was kinda dark, but Jesse helped Amber get up there on stage and into place, and then left the stage.
"Okay get everyone ready to start the music," she heard him say.
"Okay," she said worried but raised her hands like Jesse taught her, everyone get ready, and started to play on her cue.
Amber smiled as everyone played the music with her conducting.
"Okay, here comes Clay, get ready..." she heard.
She sighed, and with a wipe of her hand the music changed and the fans went nuts as Clay walked on stage to sing his first song with the girls.
"Okay, remember he'll talk to you after the first song, so I'll be on stage and walk right toward you and switch places and you go in back and sit on the floor hiding behind someone on the stage, then we'll switch again."
"Okay," she said smiling as the song kept playing as Clay sang the first song.
Soon, as the song was close to being done, she saw Jesse slowly coming toward her as Clay was about done, and as Clay got done, Jesse and Amber switched, and Amber headed back the way Jesse came and hides behind one of the players.
"It worked," Amber said as a few of the orchestra members looked at her and smiled and giggled.
"How is everyone tonight?" Clay asked which everyone screamed.
"Amber, stay back there I'll be on the piano for a bit and then we'll switch again," she heard Jesse say in her ear.
"Gottcha," she said as she sat down on the floor and watched in back as Clay was talking to everyone and Jesse was at the piano watching her and giving her a thumbs up.
The hiding went on for a little while, and Clay wasn't thinking about anything, until...
Amber was getting ready to play the next song while Jesse and her switched, but Clay spotted them.
"What is going on here?" Clay asked.
The fans started to laugh. The girls looked away to start laughing as the orchestra tried hard not to laugh.
"Nothing," Jesse said as he started to walk off.
"Where are you going?" Clay asked seeing the back of someone and Jesse walking off toward the back.
"I'll be back up there."
"Who’s going to conduct the orchestra?" he asked. He watches the person in front of him raise its arm. "Who are you?" he asked.
Jesse turned around and nodded at Amber as he walked backward them, and he took his hat off, and Amber spins around taking her hat off and faces Clay smiling.
"Surprise!" everyone on stage said together.
Clay's jaw dropped when he saw Amber dressed just like Jesse, just that her hair was up in a bun that was under the hat the whole time.
Then, all the fans screamed, cheered, or booed.
Amber was ready for the booing. Jesse told her to avoid it.
"Are you're kidding me?" he asked Jesse and looked at Amber. "What are you doing up here?" Clay asked putting his mic down to talk to her.
"Jesse taught me how to conduct the orchestra yesterday, so we were switching back and forth during the songs when he had to play the piano," Amber told him with a smile.
Clay looked back at the fans as he was hearing the ‘boos’.
"Look Clay it was a joke. Amber can go now if you'd like?" Jesse asked him.
The girls walked over.
"Clay, we all set this up," Quiana said.
Clay looked at Amber, then the fans started talking and screaming when they saw Amber. He looked back at Amber, and then walked off toward edge of the stage.
They watched him do his hand jester that he does, which was making his hand spread out and then close it in a circle motion, and everyone was quiet. Clay looked around, and saw all the signs that said the bad things about her, and then good things.
"Can I have the house lights up please?"
The lights came on as Amber and Jesse sat down on the bench together and the girls went back to sit down on their stools.
"I want to see all the signs that everyone brought tonight."
He watch more signs come up, and looked around the place, and read some and closed his eyes as a few fans started to talk and looked around too.
"Everyone that brought a sign that has a bad thing to say about Amber, I want those down."
He watched half of the signs to go down.
Amber watched all the good things about her stay up and she started to cry a little seeing all the nice things about her as Jesse hugged her.
"Now," Clay smiled looking back at Amber and winked. "Everyone that is around those fans that have the bad signs," he looked back toward the fans, "I want you to help rip them up for me."
Fans screamed as ripping sounds happened, and more arguing started.
"No talking," he said.
Soon the signs were gone.
He reached his hand back toward Amber, "Come here," he said.
Amber looked at Jesse who nodded with a smile as she stood up, and reached her hand out toward Clay's to take it. Clay took it, and smiled at her and then looked back. The fans started to go nuts again, but Clay did the jester again and they calmed down.
"Now, some of you may know who this is. Some of you may not. This is my Personal Assistant," he looked at her and smiled, "and my friend, Amber." He looked back out to the fans. "Now, Amber and I didn't know that there were pictures of us together on the internet, until she found them, and showed them to me. I read the articles, and so did she. But we have one thing to tell you. They are all lies."
The fans started to cheer, Amber heard some fans call out to her, she looked down near the front, and smiled to see them waving so she nicely waved back.
"We did get to go to the movie High School Musical Two because Zac Efron and Kenny personally invited us." Clay let go of Amber’s hand, which Clay walk to the other side of the stage as Amber decided to go sit down with Jesse.
"Zac even invited Amber to go to the taping of it, didn't you Amber?" he asked her.
Amber smiled and nodded, and yelled, "Yes!"
"And you had fun didn't you?"
"Yes!" she yelled which Jesse and her were laughing.
"Well, the articles said that she is now engaged, which isn't true. The picture was flipped around." He looked around. "I have only given Amber two things, as a thank you. The first one was a stuffed animal. The second one was the ring, once again both as a thank you. For being my assistant and being apart of our family."
The fans started cheering.
"Now, as you just saw, Jesse and Amber played a joke on me." He looked back at them and tried hard not to laugh. "In the same outfit." He looked at Angela, "Did you have something to do with this?"
"Maybe," she smiled.
He looked over at Quiana, "Did you?"
"I'm staying out of it," she said holding her hands up.
Clay looked at Amber, "Did they have any part of this?"
Amber giggled. "Yes."
"A HA!" he said smiling and turned around. "That's what I thought."
Amber looked around and saw the one sign that caught her eye, and pointed it out to Jesse.
"Let's see if Clay would like to let that person come to the M&G," she told him.
Jesse saw the one sign that he saw outside that was really long. "Yeah."
As Clay was going to get into singing another song, Jesse and Amber called out to him.
"Clay!" they said.
He stopped which everyone laughed. He turned to look at them.
Amber then started to giggle on what she saw and Jesse then saw it too.
"What's so funny?" he asked.
Amber stood up, pushed his mic down pointing to the floor, pulled out his earpiece, and whispered in his ear. "Two things. There is a fan out there that has a really great sign that we thought she'd like to come to the M&G, and two... your flies opened."
Clay blushed, turned his back toward the fans, and looked down to see what she said. Everyone started laughing when they saw that Clay zipped up his pants, and then turned back around.
"Okay. Amber said that there is a sign out there that is really long, but I don't see it. Can I have the lights up again?"
Amber took Clay over to the other side, and pointed out the fan that had the sign over on the left side toward the back.
Clay then read out loud in his mic, "10 Q 4 B N O M C P A?" he asked.
Amber giggled which the girls did too and he heard them say, "Thank you for being Our Man Clay's Personal Assistant."
Clay studied it, “Oh, okay. I get it.” He looked and saw the girl jumping up and down holding the sign, “Okay, honey, you need to calm down.” She screamed but calms down with her friends help. “Amber asked me to see if you’d like to go to the M&G after the show.” She screamed, which was a yes. "Okay, I'll have Jerome come find you, okay?"
Clay looked back at Amber and Jesse who was sitting at the bench.
"Why don't you stay out here Jesse and let Amber conduct?" Clay asked.
"If you want, I can," he said.
"No, she’s done a great job, let her do it."
They started the show up again as Jesse on the piano and Amber was conducting.
After the show, Amber was in the dressing room with Clay while he went to clean up, and she was back in her clothes that she came in.
Her chest was hurting her, but she didn't bother to tell Clay just yet. She saw a little blood, but knew that she'd have to be careful for the rest of the night or she was going to get into trouble again. She had a feeling it was because of her arms waving around conducting. She was about to fall asleep on the couch in the room until she heard Clay coming out in a towel.
"Hey, I'm going to get dressed. I know that you and Jerome went to go redo the stitch, but I want to see how it’s doing tonight."
Amber closed her eyes. "Okay."
Clay went back into the other room, and got ready as Amber fell asleep.
Clay walked back out to see Amber asleep on the couch. He hated to wake her up. She really had a fun night, but she had to get ready to go to the M&G, the bus line, and then she could fall back to sleep.
Clay went over with the first-aide kit and kneeled beside Amber. "Amber," he said. "You need to wake up. We're leaving soon."
Amber slowly woke up to see Clay kneeling beside her, and yawned with a stretch. "Hi."
"Hi," he smiled. "Let's look at the bandage, and we'll go to the M&G, and you can head to the bus while I shake hands with everyone, and go to bed early."
"Are you sure?" she asked yawned.
"Yeah," he said.
She nodded and looked around what to cover her chest with while he looks.
"I'll cover my eyes, take your shirt off and cover up with it," he said closing his eyes.
Amber sat up to take the shirt off, and covered herself back up and lay down again. "Okay."
Clay opened his eyes, and saw the bandage a little red, when he removed the bandage it looked better, so he cleaned and changed it again.
Amber opened her eyes after he changed it, and looked at him while he was cleaning up.
"Thank you," she said smiling.
Clay smiled, leaned over and kissed her. "You're welcome," he said smiling back.
Soon, there was a knock on the door.
"Clay, it's Jerome, are you ready?" they heard him ask.
"Yes," Clay said cleaning up the room and Amber got her shirt back on quickly, and grabbed her stuff.
Amber looked at the box of gifts from the fans again, and put her purse inside it.
Clay went to open the door for her to carry the stuff, and Jerome took it from her.
"I can carry it Jerome," Amber told him, and then saw three cops. "Oh, hello officers. May I help you?"
"Are you Amber Scott?" one asked her.
"Yes," she answered and then asked, "Is something wrong?"
"You'll need to come with us."
"What? Why? Is something wrong?" Clay asked coming around to have Amber behind him.
"I tried to stop them Clay," Jerome told him which Clay quickly looked at him.
“Stop them for what?”
"We have a warrant for her arrest," he said showing a warrant.
"Arrest? For what?" Clay asked.
They didn't see Jesse and the girls were coming out of their dressing room, saw the group, and quickly ran over.
"We have an warrant that says that she did the same thing that another girl named Rose did to you. Exposed you to the media?" he said handing the paper to Clay to read.
"No I didn't," Amber said quickly looking at it. "I didn't know who took those pictures, and how can I when I was with him."
"It says that you hired someone to do it for you," another officer said.
Amber looked at Clay. "Clay? You don't believe that do you?" she asked.
Clay watched Amber. It then hit him. "I don't know Amber."
"Clay!" Jerome, Jesse, and the girls said at once.
Amber nodded as she looked at Jesse and the girls. She wasn’t going to argue with him. "Fine," she said, and looked at the officer. "Let me just get my wallet since my personal belongs are inside it. It's inside that box. Or you can grab it if you'd like."
Jerome put the box on the ground as another officer reached inside the bag to grab her wallet from her purse.
Amber bit her bottom lip as she watched the officer that was watching her, and she took her ring off, grabbed her cell phone out of her pocket, and hands them to Clay trying not to cry. "Here, I won't be needing these."
The officer got her wallet and went up to her. "Ms. Scott."
She nodded and looked at everyone. "Bye, and thanks for a great time,” she made sure that she looked at Jesse. She looks at Clay, "Even if you don't believe me."
She put her hands behind her back so that they could handcuff her, and she didn't struggle.
"Clay?" Jesse asked looking at him.
Clay just looked at the ring.
"Do something," Angela said going over.
Amber and the officers walked off.
"I can't," he said putting the ring in his pocket.
"She didn't do it Clay," Jesse said.
"How do you know?" he asked.
Quiana walked over, "I know that the next three words that come out you’ll hate me, but Clayton Holmes Aiken. You know that she never betrayed you or us. She has been honest about everything. Why start now?"
"She didn't do it!" they told him together.
Clay just walked off to the M&G.
Amber looked at the cops. "Is there anyway that I don't have to be in front of the fans?" she asked. "I don't want to make it worse for Clay as it is?" she asked.
"We have to go that way."
She closed her eyes, and as the doors opened she heard fans yelling, and reporters flashing their cameras and recording her for the local and world wide news asking her questions nonstop until she got into the cop car that she bend her head down to hide from everyone and cry as the cops drove off.
Aug 23 08 9:33 AM
Someone was in a front room watching TV, and saw big news about Amber on the TV. He turned up the volume on it and listened.
“A few days ago, Clay Aiken’s personal assistant which we were asked to keep her name off the record, got arrested the other night at Clay’s concert in Carly, North Carolina. His manager Clive Davis put out a warrant for her arrest because of her lying to the media about her being with him,” the reporter said. “He just fired another girl that was his assistant months ago for the same thing. But hers was more out to the public for months before Clay caught her, and now this other girl just did it once and she’s arrested. I have reporter Samantha Smith doing more investigation on this. Samantha?”
“Yes. Word is out that this other assistant got someone to take pictures of her and Clay together as the movie premiere that they got invited to go to courtesy of the director Kenny Ortega, and she told the media that she and Clay were dating and were kissing.”
Someone grabbed a cell phone and dialed a number.
“Hey Clay. What’s going on with Amber getting arrested?”
Amber cried, slept, and ate the jail food while she was in her cell for five days, until someone came and knocked on the cell door.
"Hey! Someone is here to see you," a cop named Shelly said.
"Who?" She just wanted to go home. Clay was gone and was in Atlanta, Georgia for tonight, then Fort Myers, Florida tomorrow. She couldn't believe she remembered the concerts for the tour still.
She saw the door open, "Come on."
She got up, followed Shelly out, and followed her into another room.
"Someone made bail for you," she said handing Amber her clothes back.
"What?" she asked taking the pile. "But who?"
"Well, he's waiting for you to get ready, and then to take you home."
She nodded as Shelly got her to a dressing room to change clothes, and then took her to get her wallet and personal stuff.
As Shelly walked Amber out a door that she came into the jail from, she saw the guy waiting for her with brown hair and blue eyes.
“Hi,” Zac smiled trying not to cry seeing her as messy as she looked.
Amber started to cry again, ran to him, and hugged him. "Oh my god, Zac, thank you so much."
He hugged her as she cried on his shoulder. "It's okay."
They hugged for a while, and Amber looked at him. "How did you know I was here?"
"The news. The story was just every hour and every day. I called Clay and he told me what happened, and I wanted to tell you that I'm sorry too."
"Why?" she asked.
"Can we talk?" he asked.
"If I can have a decent meal and a shower."
"Sure," he said.
Zac linked his arm with Amber as they walked off to his car, and head off to a local diner for carry out and take it to the hotel.
They got to a local diner, Zac ordered them carry out dinners, and took it back to the hotel that he was staying at. They got to the hotel, and Zac parked.
“Clay got you a room right next door to me, and he has a surprise in there for you,” Zac said turning the car off after parking it.
“What?” she asked worried.
“You’ll see,” he smiled.
They went in, Amber got her key, Zac took her to her room, and as Amber opened the door, she saw the closet was half full of new clothes, red roses in a vase on the table by the window, and on the bed was her stuff dog that he gave her on the bus, and her purse.
“Wow!” she said looking at the clothes, and then going to the roses to smell them, and then saw the bed with her stuff, and went to pick up the dog and cuddled up to it. “How?” she asked looking at Zac trying not to cry holding the dog since that was close as she was going to get to being with Clay.
“He ordered some of the stuff and gave me to bring back to you,” he smiled.
She sat down, and looked around. “So, what do I do now?”
“Let’s eat first.”
After they setup their meal, Amber looked at Zac.
"So, why the sorry?" she asked.
Zac looked at her, "It was my fault with Rose. She came up and asked me about you when I was saying good-bye to you at the airport. I didn't know that was the Rose that Clay fired. She asked me about some stuff and I answered them thinking that she was a reporter, and when we were at the premiere, I saw her smiling and waving and winked while taking pictures of us and you two."
"You told her about the premiere?"
"Yeah, I don't know how she knew that you and Clay were going to be there that's the one thing that puzzles me. She must have over heard stuff going around."
Amber sighed, "I can't believe it."
"And like I said, I didn't know that was her. When I heard about the gun shot, I saw her again when she got out and…" Zac sighed as he flashed back seeing a girl at the door looking inside the room as he was watching TV while Amber was sleep. "That's it, she must have over heard us talking about it because she came in the hospital and to the door."
Amber sighed, "Had to of." She tried not to cry, "I guess I'm flying back to Raleigh to pack and on my way back to Idaho I guess."
"Why do you think that?"
"Because I know that I lost my job."
"How do you know?" Zac asked smiling.
"Clay didn't even look at me or say anything to me, but 'I don't know Amber'."
Zac got up and went over to her purse, reached inside, and pulled out something that Amber thought that she'd never see again. "Well, what about this?" he asked taking it back over to hand her.
Amber's eyes wide-eyed and then slowly cried again. "How did you get it?" she asked taking the planner and opens it to see things were fine, and the cell phone tucked away inside.
"Clay called me and told me what happened. I told him that I was sorry and told him what I just told you. So he asked me to go see him yesterday, and asked me if I could come get you, and give this back to you."
"I still have my job?"
Zac nodded, "He got on a long call with Clive and talked for hours. He finally dropped the charges, and Clay paid your bail. With him on his way to Atlanta, Georgia, he asked me to come get you."
Amber then saw an envelope with her name on it. She pulled it out, opened it, and saw a handwritten letter to her from Clay.
"He wrote me a note?" she asked.
Zac smiled, "Yeah."
Amber then started to read it…
I’m very sorry. After you left, the fans asked where you were, and the bus lines asked what happened to you. I just told them that something happened. Jesse, Angela, and Quiana never talked to me the rest of the night or the next few days.
So I called Clive and asked why he arrested you, and I fought him for hours. He finally dropped the charges and decided not to take you to court. So, I want you to come back.
I really miss you, and I made a mistake of not supporting you. I just let you go without thinking that I was wrong.
I knew that you didn't frame me, it's just that I saw Rose all over again and not you. Please forgive me?
Zac is to come back with you to make sure that you are back with us again.
I hope to see you soon.
P. S.: Look inside. I think something belongs to you?
Amber looked down, and saw the promise ring around a ring of the planner inside that was holding the papers together. She opened the ring to take it out, and placed it back where it belongs. She studied it on her hand and smiled.
“So, are you ready to go back?” he asked.
Amber looked at Zac. “I don’t know. He can’t trust me. Why should I go back when he doesn’t trust me?”
Zac sigh, “The last concert is in five days. You have to decided that night.”
Amber nodded. “I just want to get cleaned up.”
Zac smiled, “Well, get cleaned up. I’ll stay in here and we can go do stuff if you want.”
“I rather just stay in for a while,” she smiled standing up and grabs some clean clothes. She looked at Zac. “I’ll be back out in a few.”
“Take your time. Take a bubble bath if you wish. I’ll just watch some TV. Or take a nap. And if you show me how, I’ll take care of the stitch on your chest.”
“I’ll get it, but thanks again Zac,” she said before she went into the bathroom to take a bath.
Zac sat down on the bed, turned the TV on to watch, and soon fell asleep.
Amber took a long bath until the water started to get cool, so she showered to clean everything off really good, washed her hair twice, got done, got dressed, brushed her hair really good, went out of the bathroom, cleaned her stitch, and bandaged it back up, and saw Zac sleeping away on the bed.
She went over and smiled watching him sleep and saw the TV was on, but the sound was low. She didn't want to wake him up, but she was sleepy too, she was puzzled on if she should get on the bed and sleep beside him, or try to stay awake.
"Amber?" she was asked.
She noticed that Zac was watching her. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," she told him, "I'm just tired is all."
He reached his hand out toward him. "Here, come lay down beside me. We can sleep cuddled if that's what you want. I can see the cogs turning."
Amber giggled, "What about Vanessa?"
"She knows. Right now you need sleep and a friend right now."
"You promise me nothing is going to happen right?"
"Of course," Zac smiled.
Amber climbed onto the bed over to Zac, which he lifts his arm up so she could cuddle up to him, and they watched TV together.
"Amber?" Zac asked.
"Can I ask you something?"
"Um, remember back when we were in Saint George, and we shared that lunch together while we were working on my song?"
"Yeah," she answered with a smile.
"And you told me about your parents back in Idaho and showed me a picture of them?"
"And you had a deep dark secret that you never told anybody? You wouldn't even tell me."
"That's right. Why?"
"I wanted to ask you a question, but I don’t want you to get mad at me."
Amber sat up to look at him. "Zac, where are you getting at?"
Zac sat up and leaned back against the headboard, "I did some asking around, with my parents asking them to help me out on what to do, and they were really quiet when I told them about you."
"Amber were you adopted?" he asked being very serious.
Amber’s eyes got huge. “How did you figure that out? How did you find out? I never told anyone about it.” She got up off the bed and started to pace the floor.
“Well, when I told mom about you, she started asking me questions,” he said standing up to watch her pace.
“Zac, I never told anyone this. No one!” She sighed, “Not even Clay.”
“But please listen.”
Amber stopped to face him and folded her arms across her chest, "I'm listening."
“My parents were traveling to Idaho to visit some friends and family. Of course they were young at the time.” He looked into her eyes as he walked up to face her. “My mom was pregnant.” He continued, “Some how, mom and dad were in your hometown, and her water broke. She had a little girl, and mom was so young that they weren’t ready to be parents, they gave her up for an adoption.” He studied her, “You were born May 30, 1977, and adopted a year later, but you were staying with your adopted parents while growing up.”
“Zac,” she said and started to shake and went to sit down on the bed. “You have to be lying.”
"I'm not." He went to face her on the bed and kneeled down in front of her. "Amber, you know what this means?"
Amber looked at him. "I... have... a real... family." She started to cry.
Zac smiled, “That day we personally first met? I knew that something was there. I just didn’t see it until mom told me.” He sighed, “Now, mom and dad and I have agreed to all take a DNA test to prove that we are family to you if you want that. Mom and dad said to call and they’ll set it up for us.”
Amber nodded, “I would like that.”
Amber and Zac then hugged. Then they talked for hours and hours about life, good or bad, growing up, and with all of their years to catch up.
The next four days, every night, Clay was waiting to see or hear from Amber, during the concert he would look to the side of the stage to see if Amber was watching by the stairs, but she wasn't there.
He was now in Orlando, the last show of the tour. He kept his cell phone with him and every time someone phone went off he thought that it was his and Amber was calling him.
Hours before the show started, Clay decided to sit at the piano on stage, and faced the empty seats that would be filled with his fans one last time before he started getting the Christmas tour ready.
Jesse walked on stage to see Clay at the piano. He felt the same way for Amber. They all missed her. The girls really missed her. They all got along with her. And now, if she didn't show up tonight, they knew that she wasn't going to come back.
Jesse slowly walked over toward Clay. "Hey," he said.
Clay looked over. "Hey Jesse."
"Nothing yet from her?" he asked going over to sit down beside him.
"Nothing," Clay said looking at the floor.
"Clay, if she doesn't come back tonight, what are you going to do?" Jesse asked him.
Clay sighed, "I just hope that she's back in Raleigh at the house waiting for me, and has a reason why she didn't come back to finish off the tour with me." He closed his eyes, "Or has gone back to Idaho without saying bye."
"I don't think she would do that last one without saying goodbye."
Jerome walked on stage to see them. "Jesse, Clay, the fans will be let in soon, you better come backstage," he told them.
They nodded standing up, and walked off toward the back.
"I'm going to be in my dressing room. If you see Amber, bring her to me," Clay told Jesse and Jerome.
"We will," they said as they watched Clay walk off toward his dressing room.
"Any word on Amber?" Jesse asked.
"Zac called, they are on their way here," Jerome smiled.
"When?" Jesse asked quickly with a smile.
"During the show." Jerome looked at him, "Now, don't go run off and tell Clay. Amber wants to surprise him."
"I know, but if she comes before the song that she sang the other day... maybe she could sing it to him as a surprise, she could walk on stage singing with Clay."
"Hope that it'll work, if not we can kinda mess up with the music for it, to give her time, and maybe switch the song around."
Jesse smiled, "Thanks Jerome. I need to let the girls know. They'll let her sing with him for sure."
Jesse ran off to go find Angela and Quiana to tell them the good news.
Aug 23 08 9:37 AM
Amber looked at the time on her watch. They were about to land in Orlando, get their bags, and then get into a limo to get to the Hard Rock Live.
She really enjoyed the last three days with Zac. They both flew back to Los Angles, California. They all did a DNA test, and the test results came back saying that Zac was her brother and parents were was really hers. It did feel weird at first, but it felt great later on as she got to know them.
Zac and Amber got to know each other more and more every day while they were together, and Amber giggled remembering that Zac asked his friends to come over for a Bar-B-Que and then told them that he and Amber were brother and sister, everyone went nuts and were excited to hear about it.
"What's so funny?" Zac asked her.
She looked over and smiled, "Oh, just thinking about what happened when you told everyone that we were brother and sister."
He giggled, "Yeah. It was fun."Amber looked at him, "Zac?"
She smiled, "I just can't say it enough. Thank you for everything. I had a great time getting to know your family."
Zac didn’t say anything to her saying ‘your family’. "You’re welcome. I know that it's going to take some time to calling them, mom and dad. But they understand, and in due time, you will or might not."
She smiled. She leaned her head on his shoulder as she held onto his arm. Amber just didn't want to let go just yet. She felt if she did, her dream wasn't real.
"Hey look," Zac said looking out the window, "look at the lights."
Amber raised her head to look out. "Oh, wow." She moved to look out the window more and the city down below.
"Attention passengers. We will be landing in 15 minutes. Please be prepared to land."
Amber and Zac cleaned up around their area, and were ready.
"She's landed," Jerome told Jesse, Angela, and Quiana as they were about to go on stage before Clay walked over toward them.
They smiled looking at each other.
"Tell her the plan, and get her ready," Jesse said quickly and quietly before Clay reached them.
"Ready?" Angela asked looking at Clay.
"Yeah," Clay said sadly.
"Cheer up, the show is just starting," Quiana told him. “She has until after the concert.”
"I know," he sighed.
Jesse patted his back, and went up on stage to get the orchestra ready.
As Clay heard his cue, he went on as the girls followed.
Jerome sighed, "Hurry Amber."
Amber and Zac were heading to the Hard Rock Live. Luckily in the planner Clay had left two backstage passes to get into the concert in back, so both of them had them on around their necks. Amber stared at her feet waiting for the limo to get there as she felt a hand on her arm and she looked over to see Zac.
"It's okay. The show just started, we have time," he told her with a smile.
Amber nodded. "I'm just scared."
"Don't be. You're with family and friends."
They both share a smile.
Soon, they got through thanks to Jerome getting the security to watch out for the limo and making room to get in back with it. The limo stopped and Amber didn't wait to get out, she opened the door and Zac followed as they ran inside.
"Jerome?" Amber asked looking around the place, and saw him by the stairs to the stage.
"Amber- Zac, good you made it," he said and hugged her.
"Where is he?" she asked hearing him singing.
"Up on stage. But wait! Jesse and the girls have stuff ready and waiting for you in the girls’ dressing room. You are to clean up and look nice before Clay sees you."
Amber nodded. "Where is it?" she asked.
"I'll show you. Zac come with us and she'll need your help with the dress that the girls got her."
“Dress?” Amber looked at Zac and started laughing. "Okay, they have to learn that I’m not a dress girl, and this bro/sis thing is starting to kick in."
Zac smiled, “Come on. I've helped the others, it's not going to be a problem.”
They got to the dressing room and Amber went inside with Zac right behind her.
Amber ran to the bathroom to clean up as Zac sat down and waited.
"Jesse, she is getting ready, are we going to be able to make it in time?" he heard Jerome ask him in his earpiece.
"Yeah, it's two songs away," Jesse said while Clay was talking to the crowd.
"Great. Look for us on the side soon then."
"Roger," he said and kind of made thumbs up to the girls and the orchestra, which they all nodded.
Clay noticed the nods. "What's going on?" he asked looking at the girls and Jesse.
"Nothing," they said and softly giggled.
"Okay, are you planning something again, because you normally do when it’s the last show."
"Nothing is going on tonight Clay," Jesse lied.
"Okay," he said. Looks at the crowd, "Yeah right."
The three looked at each other and giggled again.
Amber got out of the shower, dried off to put the stuff on that the girls left her, and then walked back out to see Zac reading a magazine that was on the table near by.
"Zac," she said smiling.
Zac looked over. "WOW. Amber..." he stood up and going over, "You look amazing."
"Thank you," she smiled. "Will you zip up the back?"
She turned around as he zipped it up for her.
The dress was a deep blue that was short sleeves, and went down to her knees, and when she spins around the skirt lifted up. In back around her waist was a medium size bow.
After Zac zipped the back up for her, she turned around to face him.
He smiled and saw that she left her hair down but pulled it back in a clip, and a few small strains gave her small ringlets.
"You look magnificent."
Amber smiled, "Thanks, again."
There was a knock on the door. "Amber... you're to be on stage in 5 minutes."
"Thanks," she called out.
Zac looked into her eyes, "Amber, I want to do it, but I can't because your my sister, you have a boyfriend, and I have a girlfriend."
She reached up and kissed him on the lips softly, they kiss for a second, but Amber stops. "I wanted to do it to, but we can't. But we can say we did once now."
She grabbed his hand, "Come on, let’s go surprise Clay."
He smiles as they walked out of the room, and headed toward the stage to see Jerome.
"Good," he said seeing them. "You look gorgeous Amber."
"Now, here is your mic and earpiece," he said as she was getting a microphone pack put on the dress by the bow, and was handed the earplugs to put in her ears.
"What?" she asked surprised.
"You're going to be singing ‘A Thousand Days’ with Clay," he said.
"But, I can't." she panics.
"Jesse wants you to surprise Clay, and this is it."
Amber looked at Zac with a worried look on her face..
"You can do this, I know you can," he said smiling.
She nodded as she was given a microphone, and then they left.
Soon the pack was turned on for her and she heard Clay talking in one ear, and Jesse talking in the other.
"Why do I hear Jesse and Clay?" she said taking the left one out from hearing Clay.
"Jesse is going to give you the cue to sing," Jerome told her.
Amber heard, "This next song..."
"I'm going to dedicate this next song to someone that is very close to me," Clay told the fans, and looked at Jesse and girls, "and everyone up here tonight. We heard this person sing this next song, and…"
"She blew you away," the three said together.
Clay looked at them taken aback as the fans laughed
"You heard me think it didn't you." He smiled. "You're all going psychic on me now are you?"
The fans laughed again, "This song is 'A Thousand Days'."
The fans cheered.
Through my eyes, I have seen the world start spinning like a ball. Stars light up and then fall for you.
So then what's a man like me supposed to do?
She listened to Clay start singing, and Amber looked at Zac one last time.
"Go, I'll be here," he told her. “I promise I’m not leaving.”
She smiled, and walked up the steps to make sure that no one saw her.
If I gave you the moon would you notice, That I'm right beside you?
"Okay Amber, I need to see you, get on the top step," she heard Jesse.
She got to the top step but made sure that the fans didn't see her. She heard Clay start to sing in her left ear. She closed her eyes to listen.
Well now a thousand days and thousand nights are not enough. Cause I can't hold back the way I feel about my love. Won't let it go, won't let it go. And if the angels came, I'd fight them back to win your soul. And when everything was said and done They'd go back home. And they oughta know, they oughta know. That you're mine all mine
"Amber go," she heard Jesse tell her.
She opened her eyes, and started to walk on stage hearing the music and herself singing to Clay.
In my world, You're the sun that shines and lights up the evening skies. Clearing up the horizon, hold on. Come with me and I will never let you down
Clay heard a different voice singing, and looked at the girls which they smiled and shaking their heads, until Clay saw someone coming out on stage, and saw who it was.
Oh, and in this love we'll drown, this I promise you. Cause they can't hold us down.
Well now a thousand days and thousand nights are not enough Cause I can't hold back the way I feel about my love Won't let it go, won't let it go.
Clay smiled more then ever to see Amber and started to have a few tears fall down his cheeks as he heard her singing and the fans screaming and cheering to see what was going on.
They both then started to sing together reaching out to hold hands.
And if the angels came, I'd fight them back to win your soul. And when everything was said and done they'd go back home. And they oughta know, they oughta know.
Clay let go of Amber’s hand, and then sang touching Amber' chin...
They sang together again...
I would do anything, just believe it. Your love means everything, and I need it. Your heart won't lie,
Amber let Clay sing his 'glory note'.
Reach out for love...
As they sang Clay and Amber held hands not letting go. Clay wasn't going to lose her again and Amber wanted to make sure that she stayed.
They danced around a few times as the fans laughed and cheered.
Well now a thousand days and thousand nights are not enough. Cause I can't hold back the way I feel about my love. Won't let it go, won't let it go.
Amber then got to sing...
Cause you're mine all mine.
They sang the rest together looking into each other's eyes.
And if the angels came, I'd fight them back to win your soul. And when everything was said and done they'd go back home. They oughta know, they oughta know. That you're mine all mine
After they got done the fans cheered louder then ever as Clay and Amber just stared and smiled at each other as they both lowered their microphone.
"You came back," he said.
"Of course I came back. I have a job to do here," she smiled.
Clay took her right hand with the ring on it and showed her, "And us?"
She smiled, "And us."
They hugged each other.
"Thank you," he said.
"No, thank you," she said. "For giving me a second chance."
They let go, and Clay talked into his microphone, "Amber Scott."
The fans cheered again as Amber turned to bow to the fans.
"We even have a special guest in back," Amber said into her microphone. "He brought me here tonight. I'm happy to let you know. Ladies and gentlemen, ZAC EFRON!"
Zac ran on stage as the fans went nuts see him as he went to Quiana and hugged her, then shook hands with Jesse and Clay, went over to Angela, hugged her, and then went back to Amber as she smiled.
Amber said looking at Clay, "I have something to tell you."
She looked at Zac, which he nodded to tell him.
"I'll tell you after the show."
"No, what?" Clay asked.
She worded, 'no… later'.
"Thanks for bringing her back Zac," Clay told him.
"Sure," he smiled.
"Zac Efron and Amber Scott," Clay said.
Amber and Zac waved to the fans as they walked off.

Amber started to get worried about telling everyone about her deep secret and found out that Zac and her are related. She asked Jerome to tell everyone to meet her and Zac in back by the dressing rooms. Amber was asked to come back on stage before the show ended, but she didn't want to, she was way to nervous.
Soon she heard 'good night' from Clay, and waited.
"Amber, it'll be okay," Zac told her.
"I know, but..."
"Calm down. You'll tell them, and they’ll be fine with it."
Clay was walking right toward them with the girls behind, and as the music ended and the place roared with screaming which meant Jesse was on his way too.
Clay reached them. "LOOK at you... you look incredible."
She smiled, "Thanks."
He hugged her and they kissed. "I so missed you.""I missed you too."
"Don't leave me ever.""I won't."
Soon Jesse walked over toward them.
"Okay, we are all here, what's going on?" Jesse asked.
Amber sighed, "I didn't tell you a deep secret that I kept to myself. I hate talking about it, but Zac figured it out."
"What is it?" Clay asked.
Amber paused and sigh, "I'm adopted."
"What?" the girls were surprised.
"Adopted?" Jesse was stunned.
"Yes. My parents aren't my real parents, well they are, but Zac told his mom about me, and she started asking him questions."
It was quite, until Jesse said, "So that means..."
"Zac is your brother," Angela said.
Amber smiled, "Yes."
Clay looked at Zac, "Did you know?"
Zac told them the story that happened a few days ago.
"So the whole time I was gone... I was with Zac meeting my real parents," Amber told them. “And got the blood work done, which came back saying that they are really my family.”
"That's great Amber," Quiana said.
Clay was speechless.
Amber smiled, "Well, the tour is over, so go get cleaned up, and I guess…" Amber stopped.
“We head to the after party at the hotel, stay the night there, and then we fly home in the morning,” Angela told her.
“We’ll go get ready,” Jesse said as he and the girls walked off.
Clay looked at Zac and finally got out, “Thanks for bringing her back for us.”
“Sure,” Zac smiled, “I’m glad that you’re giving her another chance.” He went over and kissed Amber cheek, “I better get going. I have a flight back in the morning.”
“Okay,” she told him with a smile and then they hugged. “Thank you.”
“I’ll call you,” he said.
“Please do,” she smiled.
They let go watching each other.
After Clay and Zac told each other goodbye, Zac turned to leave with Jerome taking him out to the limo to take him to the hotel.
Amber looked at Clay.
“Come on,” Clay said reaching out for her hand, and they went to Clay’s dressing room.
They walked together to Clay’s room, and went inside.
“Wait here and I’ll get cleaned up, and we’ll go to the M&G and then the bus line together,” he told her.
“Okay,” Amber said sitting down on the couch as Clay left to get cleaned up.
Amber spotted the fan box on the table, and looked the way Clay left, and looked inside it, and decided to sort though it, and when she pulled out the letters, one had her name on it. Not Clay’s, hers. She started to get worried about it. She didn’t know whom it could be from. A crazy fan; or a very serious one.
She studied it for so long that she lost track of time, and Clay came out and saw her looking at something in her hands.
“Amber? Are you alright?” he asked going over to sit beside her.
She heard Clay and saw him sit down.
“This was in the box,” she said handing it to him.
“It’s a fan letter to you,” Clay said seeing her name on it, and smiled. “Wow. You’re first fan letter.”
“I know, but no one knew that I was coming here though.”
“Well, maybe they wanted me to give it to you.”
Amber looked at Clay. “You open it.”
“No way, it’s your mail and you told me that you won’t open mine so I’m not going to start opening yours,” he told her handing her the envelope back.
She sighed and decided to open it.
It was two pages of a letter from a Claymate that is welcoming her to the family. She was going to support Clay on his choice with her, and knew that she wouldn’t do anything to Clay to hurt him. The rest of the letter was that she supported Clay’s choice of Amber as his assistant since day one that she started working for Clay.
“Wow,” she said. “She’s known about me since the beginning.”
Clay smiled at her. “It’s weird how fans know this stuff.”
“That’s true,” Amber said and giggled putting the letter back.
“Well, are you ready to go see the M&G fans and the bus line?”
“Yes,” she smiled.
They got up, Amber grabbed the box, and they head out with Jerome at the door waiting and holding her purse.
“Here you go,” he said giving it to her.
“Thanks Jerome,” she smiled taking it and put it inside the box.
“Here, let me carry the box,” Jerome said taking it.
Clay held out his hand to Amber, which she smiled taking it.
They head down the hallway, waving bye to everyone that they see, and got to the M&G room where the fans were waiting for them.
Amber let go of Clay’s hand once they got into the doorway, went to the table while Clay waved to the fans, and Jerome placed the box beside Clay’s chair as Amber stood behind him as Clay sat down.
One by one the fans came over to meet Clay, and surprisingly they started asking for Amber’s autograph too, and a picture of both of them together with the fan. Even telling Amber that she has an amazing voice, which she would say thank you.
Soon, everyone was done, and it was time for the bus line.
As Clay and Amber got outside, Clay just couldn’t believe how long the line was tonight.
“It’s okay, go ahead,” Jerome told them holding the box.
Clay started shaking fans hands as Amber walked with him, which some asked for Amber, and telling her what a great job in singing, which she smiled and nodded to everyone that said it.
The line kept going, but Clay didn’t mind and Amber didn’t either, she smiled knowing that this was his last night in singing until next tour, which they were going to be working on very soon.
Soon, the line ended, and the bus showed up into view.
Amber got on before Clay got on, then he turned around to wave at everyone one last time before Jerome got on behind him, and the bus took off as Clay waved to the fans through the window, which Amber did too.
Jerome put the box on the table. “Okay you two, we are heading to the hotel to get ready for the after party there, and then fly off in the morning,” he told them.
Amber smiled. “I’m ready.”
Clay looked at her, “Me too.”
Amber then noticed that he was smiling his cheesy grin. “Okay, what’s going on?”
Jerome smiled and walked toward the back of the bus.
Clay took Amber’s hands into his, “Let’s sit down.”
Amber sat down on the couch with Clay, and they faced each other holdings hands still.
“Okay, while you were away, I did some calling around, and well, I got the okay to do it.”
“To do what?” she asked puzzled.
Jerome came back in front with a small box with a card on top of it that had her name on it. It was wrapped nicely in blue wrapping paper with a shiny blue bow on top.
“This is from Clay, and Clive. Well, from the rest of us too.”
Amber opened the card; it was from Clay. She then started to read out loud. “Amber. Thanks for being a great friend and girlfriend, and my best Personal Assistant that I could have. I called around and I’m presenting this gift to you. Love, Clay.” She looked at him. “What are you talking about?”
“Open it silly,” he said smiling.
Amber then took the bow off, opened the wrapping paper, and saw the box had a lid, which she took off. Her jaw dropped when she saw inside. “Oh my god,” she said quietly covering her mouth.
It was a card with the ‘Bubel Aiken Foundation’ logo on it, and the pin with it, which was a green flower. Under the card was also a ‘UNICEF’ armband like the one that Clay wears when he goes onto visiting others on the other side of the world.
Amber looked up at him. “Clay, it’s wonderful, but I don’t understand?”
Clay smiled, “I talked to Clive and he understood what I wanted to do. You are now going to be a spokeswoman with me when we go talk about the ‘Bubel Aiken Foundation’ & the ‘UNICEF’.” He then reached his right hand up to touch her cheek. “When I go back to visit the children, I want you to go with me.”
Amber felt a tear rolling down her cheek. “I’ve wanted to do that when you’ve gone. And with the ‘Bubel Aiken Foundation’ I’ve always wanted to help out.”
“Now you can,” he said.
Amber started to cry and hugs Clay, “Thank you so much.”
He hugged her back, “You’re welcome.”
Clay reached into the box to take the armband out, and puts it on Amber’s right upper arm to make sure that it fits.
Amber took the pin out and put it on her shirt right over her heart.
“They look great on you,” he told her.
She smiled as they kissed, and soon got to the hotel. Amber and Clay looked outside to see fan and the paparazzi waiting. Amber stood up and started to take the armband off, but Clay stopped her.
“Wait, what are you doing?” he asked.
She smiled taking it off. “I’m not going with you yet, however I’ll wear the pin.”
He smiled, “I understand. When the time comes you’ll wear it.”
She smiled as they kissed again, and headed off the bus.
Amber knew that she was now in the spotlight anywhere she went with Clay, and that there were going to be ups and downs; truths and lies; great times and bad; happy and sad moments. But for now, she was going to enjoy being Clay’s PA, and now his PGF.
You got it, his Personal Girl Friend.
